The Environmental Reference Center (which stands for CRA in Portuguese) is a set of laboratories from the Federal University of Minas Gerais implemented by the UFMG Brumadinho Project.

The CRA's mission is to enable the physical and chemical analyzes of soils, underground and surface water, sediments, tailings, atmospheric particulate matter, and biological material in response to the demand for a diagnosis of environmental damage resulting from the rupture of the Córrego do Feijão dam, in Brumadinho.

This laboratory structure will also favor the training of human resources with the ability to interpret and discuss technical notions with other types of information, from different areas of knowledge, which is essential in cases of projects such as the Brumadinho one.
