Subproject 08

Collection of soil and tailings samples in the Ribeirão Ferro-Carvão sub-basin

The main objective of subproject 08 is to collect soils and tailings in the Ribeirão Ferro-Carvão sub-basin in compliance with the Technical-Scientific Committee (CTC).


This objective is divided into:

  • Collect soil and tailings samples according to the protocols described in the CTC Notice 08/2020 which were based on scientific methodologies accepted nationally and internationally;
  • Collect soil and tailings samples at the ready, depths and quantities defined by Public Notice CTC 08/2020;
  • Perform the collections under the supervision of auditors accredited by INMETRO - as indicated by the CTC Notice 08/2020
  • Pack and transport the soil and tailings samples to the location previously determined by the CTC and;
  • Prepare and deliver a detailed technical report of all activities carried out in the execution of this proposal to the CTC.

• Initial team meeting, elaboration of the goal plan to be used as an evaluation and follow-up instrument; and preparation of the sample storage and transport security protocol to be presented and validated by the CTC and INMETRO auditor;

• Realization of work of emergency field, if any problem of collection is observed
• Preparation of final collection reports
• Delivery of the final products established by the Notice 08/2020 to the Technical-Scientific Committee, specifically at CRA, and presentation of the results in a seminar
