The Brumadinho
Project
The UFMG Brumadinho Project has the main purpose of assisting the 2nd Public Finance Court of the District of Belo Horizonte through scientific studies that allow the identification and evaluation of the impacts resulting from the collapse of Dam I of the Córrego do Feijão Mine in Brumadinho, state of Minas Gerais.
Therefore, the specific objectives are to identify and assess the emergency needs of the socio-economic, environmental, health, and education scopes, as well as the consequences on the urban structures, the material/immaterial cultural heritage, and the riverine populations, amongst other impacts on small-sized regions and medium-sized regions, as well as on regional and local scale. Lastly, we aim to present the recovery and reconstruction needs and requirements in a Consolidated Assessment Report and develop a Recovery Plan.
The Brumadinho Platform
The UFMG Brumadinho Platform is an instrument for accessing data related to the lawsuits that proceed after the collapse of one of the constituents dams of the Córrego do Feijão Mine, in Brumadinho (Minas Gerais).
The Platform offers integrated resources for searching and inspecting information involving thematic, geographic, and temporal aspects. Outlines about each legal document, as well as descriptions and summaries of other types of content, facilitate finding elements of interest to any audience, including legal professionals, researchers, and ordinary citizens.
